The Darkest Dark, by Astronaut Chris Hadfield (2016).

Inspired by Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield’s childhood fear of the dark,The Darkest Dark, written by Hadfield and bestselling author Kate Fillion, tells the story of young Chris’s dreams of rockets, planets and astronauts, and how watching the moon landing on television in 1969 helped him to overcome his fears through finding beauty and excitement in darkness.

Illustrated by the Fan brothers (illustrators Eric and Terry Fan), this image of all of the beautiful, fantastic things that travel through the darkness is one of the book’s most evocative.
